Pill Poppin’ Ain’t What You Think

As of late, I am a pill poppin’ bitch. Just throwing them down my throat all day long like an uncontrollable addict. I want better skin, so I am taking a little bit of beta carotene and some vitamin C. I want to be in a better mood (who doesn’t), so I am throwing down some vitamin D, B vitamins, and omega 3-fatty acid pills. When I got me some stomach aches, I grab some of that ginger root, peppermint, or charcoal pills, my knees hurt some glucosamine, can’t poo some fiber pills…the list goes on and on and on. There is a pill for literally everything. “I should have been a pharmacist,” you might hear me yelling in the aisle of my newly recent favorite store The Vitamin Shoppe. Did you know they have an Auto Delivery subscription plan that is apparently 2x points and FREE shipping!? I am not being paid to plug this, I am just legit telling you that I have recently found love here. My love for vitamins. And…boy is this girl excited.

Here is the thing, my body is a vessel that carries my lovely soul from this place to that place and as it ages with wear and tear, I find myself in a constant struggle to stay youthful. I want to be the best version of myself that I can be. I want to smile all day long as the birds chirp around me and the flowers bloom, with my perfect untouched hair and my glowing skin. I want to be flexible and alive with movement, nimble like the goddess of yoga if there was ever such a thing. Those are my desires. However, getting nourished is hard these days with Taco Bell and their $5 dollar box, that Dunkin Donuts on the corner of Goldenwest and McFadden calling my name everyday with such a sexy whisper, that I cannot resist. I hear you Donut, I am coming to eat you, don’t you worry there, I am coming, I assure you. I am not knocking you Taco Bell or Dunkin Donuts, you are my favorites, let us be clear about this so there is no confusion on such matters.

If you are like me, in love with such fast food eateries, you might find yourself to be lacking in some of those vital vitamins that I have become such an addict of. To get the nourishment that I so lack, I turn to the vitamin pills and other herbal supplements and I must say, I am pretty satisfied.

If you have ever felt groggy throughout the day, low energies pumping through your blood vessels and your skin breaking out in all kinds of pimples, rashes, and the like you might want to consider researching vitamins that assist in energy production and mood enhancement and take them. I found that nourishing my body with these essential vitamins and supplements has helped me feel happier throughout the day, more awake, more lively, my skin glowing like the radiance of the sun (just kidding, but I think I do break out less, that is worth something right?). Since I have found such delight and answers to problems of healthy functioning, I find that I must share some of my favorite vitamins/supplements and related purpose for taking them:

  1. Ginger Root, Peppermint, Charcoal – Let’s just say you ate too much, you have gas, your stomach hurts, your bloated so hard you feel like you are 12 months pregnant…whatever take this. Ginger, peppermint, and charcoal are excellent for digestion. Don’t ask why, just believe.
  1. Beta Carotene – I am a guessing that Peter Rabbit is not lacking any Beta Carotene because this is the yellow/orange pigment that gives carrots and other vegetables and fruits their beautiful coloring.  The body converts Beta Carotene to Vitamin A which is great for that glowing skin. Repeat GLOWING SKIN. One must still be careful with vitamins as with any other drug, to not over do it, because too much vitamin A is toxic and toxic is bad news.
  1. Garlic Pills and Vitamin C – Helps to prevent colds and builds immunity. Vitamin C is also good for beautiful skin. Garlic pills can assist with high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
  1. Vitamin D – Feeling kind of blue? Maybe you need some vitamin D. Wouldn’t this make sense, since the sun enables your skin to produce vitamin D. Sure blew my mind, does it blow yours?
  1. Omega 3-Fatty acids – This one helps with depression, anxiety, your eye health, and makes you more intelligent. No wonder I am reading so much lately. Call me Nerd.
  1. B Vitamins – Vitamins B-12, B1, B2, B9 help to increase energy and happiness. I shall say no more.

To conclude my propaganda for a better life, for a better you, for a better vessel, I encourage and am pushing on you my desire for everyone to take some vitamins. Make sure you consult the vitamin store personnel, google, or a doctor to make sure you don’t consume some sort of deadly variation of vitamin pills. I learned recently that some vitamins don’t mix well together, and taking too much of a certain kind of vitamin can be toxic. We wouldn’t want your obituary to read, “Death by Overdose of Vitamins,” so please be careful. And that one was not a joke.
