I live in California, where the weather is almost always perfect. On occasion it will rain, the wind will blow, and the temperature will drop to something like 60 degrees. For Californians that is the definition of freezing.
Winter brings with it a style that Californians often try to mimic. We want to wear those boots, Goddamn it! It’s exciting when it drizzles, it’s time to whip out that winter apparel. We get decked out in our wanna be winter clothes: knee high boots, scarf over long coat, hell I even have mittens! (Dramatic).
Some time along our day, the drizzle that soaked the earth turns dry. The sun makes its appearance, and then our really cute winter outfit turns into a living heater and we feel like freaks who don’t know how to check the weather on our handy weather app (ya, wtf were we thinking??)
Let’s face it, Some of us simply will never get to wear our $400 dollar pair of thigh high boots and matching ear muffs, unless we travel to the Apache Mountains (ya, I dunno where that is either), but we can still style.
For me, I’m currently really into hoodies and sweatshirt outfits. No, not because I’m a bum who lives in sweat pants and matching gear, but because it’s warm, it’s cute, and it’s easily removable for when … like that sun decides to hit.
Here are several ways to make that average hoodie/regular sweatshirt look super chic:
1)  Style hoodie underneath a jacket- leather, jean, flannel, vest, or otherwise.
2) Style sweatshirts, no hoodies with longer under shirts, layered necklaces, ripped jeans or the like.
3) Wear oversized sweatshirts with tiny shorts and ankle boots shoes or those knee highs you were trying to wear, but were hesitant to -to give that casual look a more upscale look. Say hello to my little big warm dress, that I can remove at anytime to turn my outfit from winter to summer like BOOM!
4) I’m such a crop top hoe and if I can extend that look into a winter style, that’s such a win. I Personally love the Crop top hoodie look.
